J. R. R. Tolkien was the writer of many books, but his most famous were The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings. He was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa, on 3 January 1892. He was also a professor from Oxford. He became very good friends with C. S. Lewis, the Christian author of The Chronicles of Narnia. They spent a lot of time together and discussed a lot on writing and Christianity.
His bestseller book, The Hobbit, was first published in 1937. The bestseller, The Lord of the Rings, was first published in 1954 and 1955. After many years of writing and great praise for his books, he died on 2 September 1973. Though he passed on, he is always remembered.
